10 Tips on How to Be More Confident at Work

Businesses desire high performing employees and that means you need to be more confident at work, to get the promotion, get your bonuses, even get a job if you are searching for a new one.

Confidence is about self esteem and the higher your esteem level, the more likely you will succeed in both your professional and personal life. If you do not feel confident that means you are not. If you want greater success at work, it is up to you to learn. Employers are spending less money on training, leaving that to you. However, if they can see you are responsible for your own destiny and education, they are more willing to employ or promote you. Embrace these tips.

  1. Be willing to change your ideas and update views on life.
  2. Learn how to communicate assertively….not passively (saying nothing or like a mouse or aggressively by shouting or thumbing the desk)
  3. Understand that everyone at work has a job…and if you are delegated to do some tasks from your manager and you do not like it….remember that is why you are employed and if you want to be a manager….get some training.
  4. Listen to other ideas and learn to discuss, negotiate, compromise and change.
  5. Accept compliments when you have done something well.
  6. Also - accept it if you have done something wrong and learn from the experience.
  7. Do not be a gossiper, do not ‘rub it in’ about any previous decisions or laugh at others.
  8. Be a generous giver (but not at always at your own expense).
  9. Learn to become a team player…and play your part.
  10. Volunteer to learn and grow at work.

You have free will to make choices in your life. Some of them will lead you towards you achieving your potential in your professional life and some of the challenges may seem too formidable and you give up. However, doing that means at some other time in your life you will experience the same hiccup.

Your life is your ‘big school’ so if you want the best for yourself, you need to move out of your comfort zone and learn to embrace change. Everything that happens to you is an opportunity to learn. Go for it and learn to Become Your Best!

How to Move from Fear to Faith - Wikipedia's definitions

Wikipedia's Abridged Definitions

FEAR

Fear is an emotion induced by a perceived threat. It is a basic survival mechanism responding to pain or the threat of danger.

Fear is the ability to recognize danger, flee from it (also known as the fight-or-flight response) or  freeze or paralysis response is possible.

Fear is frequently related to the specific behaviors of escape and avoidance.

Fear almost always relates to future events, such as worsening of a situation.

Fear can also be an instant reaction to something presently happening.

Most common fears: According to surveys, some of the most common fears are of ghosts, the existence of evil powers, cockroaches, spiders, snakes, heights, water, enclosed spaces, tunnels, bridges, needles, social rejection, failure, examinations and public speaking.

Causes: People develop specific fears as a result of learning. This has been studied in psychology as fear conditioning.

Brain: There are studies looking at areas of the brain that are affected in relation to fear. When looking at these areas (amygdala), it was proposed that a person learns to fear regardless of whether they themselves have experienced trauma, or if they have observed the fear in others.

Creation: Fear is affected by cultural influences and historical experience, especially during childhood

Fear of the Unknown: Something that a lot of people are scared of is the "unknown" such as the hereafter, the next ten years, or even tomorrow.

Many people are too scared to take the path they want to, because of what may lie ahead.

Most people would rather teach things they've been taught than go and do research on something new. This can lead to habits such as procrastination and under achievement.

                                    FAITH

Informal usage of faith can be quite broad, including trust or belief without proof, and "faith" is often used as a substitute for "hope", "trust" or "belief".

Depending on the religion, faith is belief in a god or gods or in the doctrines or teachings of the religion. Wikipedia lists many religions. (This ebook written from that angle)

Faith concerns questions which cannot be settled by evidence because it is in the future and not yet occurred.

THIS EBOOK FOCUSSES ON FAITH IN SELF, ‘THE UNIVERSE’ GOD, SPIRITUALITY  OR WHATEVER YOU WISH TO CALL A HIGHER POWER ON THE BASIS THAT EVERYONE IS WORKING TOWARDS THE GOOD FOR HUMANITY.
